Artist Interview - Jack Tradez

1. How did you get your artist/group name?
Well intially I did more than just rap, I really was in to playing instruments and making beats. So thats where the name "Jack Tradez" came from.

2. How long have you been in the music game?
I've been in the game for like 12 years. But 2009-2010 has been like a step out year for me. I've gotten a lot more reconition this year.

3. Who are your major influences in your music?
2pac lol

4. Where are you from?
I'm from Richmond, California

5. How did you get into music?
I got in to music after hearing Ice cube's first album. That album made a impression on me, made me want to Rap, Bad.

6. What is your next upcoming project/performance and when?
I got 2 projects coming up. The "Overnite Mixtape" and "Strictly Business 2" I currently don't have any shows booked for this month

7. Who do you have featured on your album/mixtape?
I got a lot of cats from my neighborhood, with the likes of my Labelmates "The Wryters and Vince Price" Im looking to work with a few others, nothing concrete at the moment.

8. Who would you like to work with that you haven't already?
Ummmmm? lol Freeway and Joe Budden Possibily

9. Who is your favorite artist/group (Major or Unsigned)?
My Favorite artist 2pac, can I say that twice? lol Naw Im feeling J.Cole, Wale and Wiz Khalifa. Oh and Royce Da 5'9

10 .What is your favorite song on your album/mixtape?
My favorite track rite now is either "Storybook girl" or "I do that" I have a lot of favorites on there

11. What motivates you?
God first. Then family, then money. Also just good music.

12. What sets you apart from other artists/groups in your genre?
I really don't like speaking on my talent. I prefer others to do it for me, so I don't sound full of myself lol. But I have an amazing ability to never sound the same, if I don't want to. And my delivery WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! lol

13. What would you like to see from the music industry in the next three years?
Just more reality rap. More artist that's striving to be themselves, and the death of "Skinny jeans" and the word "Swag" by that shit a suit and casket and bury the word forever!! Also I would love to see, Major Labels fall off completely and independent artist thrive and be more sucessful.

Evolution, Originality and Entertaining

16. How does your family & friends feel about your music and your choice of career?
In the past, pretty much everybody was against me and had something negative to say, but now everybody has a change of tune *no pun intended*

18. What does music mean to you?
It's my girlfriend I can't leave lol

Just keep going. Keep grinding. Because I am
